Search engine optimization, or SEO, has evolved a lot over the years and it’s been long established that an important part of effectively optimizing your site for search engines is using meta tags.
More recently, it’s been found that having the same meta tags across multiple pages can actually harm your SEO more than help it – which is why we’ve now turned off our long standing feature for site-wide meta tags.
Instead of site-wide meta tags, what you really want to do is create meta tags for individual pages! Here’s how:
- When you’re editing a page, click Properties in the menu on the left
- Click the Meta Tags tab and enter your tags
If you previously used the site-wide meta tags feature, your tags were applied to the Properties area of your pages and you can edit them by following the directions above.
